This spiky plant looks like it would be more at home in an evergreen forest than the tropics. Clumps like a champ and produces a fiery red blush and flower.
Since it has thin and needly leaves, it prefers a humid environment with plenty of air flow. Tolerant of many light levels, but needs plenty of bright light to blush red.
